5월의 꽃은 단연 장미라고 할 수 있다. 유럽사계장미 중 하나인 사하라 덩굴장미의 꽃봉오리를 보았다. 성장에 따라 시시각각 노란색으로 시작해서 분홍색, 살구색 거기다가 푸른색까지도 보여주는, 향기가 좋은 아주 큰 장미꽃이라고 한다. 아직 노란 꽃봉오리밖에 보지는 못했지만 영덕 해풍을 맞으며 형형색색의 아름다운 색을 보여줄 아름다운 장미꽃이 기대된다. 작년 이맘때쯤 방문했던 아산 피나클랜드 수목원에서는 튤립 & 수선화 축제가 한창이었다. 수만송이의 튤립과 수선화 뿐 아니라 많은 종류의 꽃들로 너무도 황홀했던 곳! 올해도 역시나 축제는 계속되고 있다. 지난 3월 23일부터 시작된 튤립 & 수선화 축제는 5월 31일까지 진행이 되며, 축제기간 중 매주 토요일 밤 8시에 진행되는 불꽃축제 또한 아주 좋은 볼거리라 생각한다.
